Books for Undergraduate / College Students in Christian Ministries -- Christology, New Testament, and Atonement
The Sven has recently issued his top recommended books for undergrads. Books are such a valuable resources and a certain ones are key elements to any library. In an effort to sort through his list I have devised a revision from my own perspective on essential texts to be purchased. The categories that are listed below are originally his. However some additional categories have been added while others have been left out.
The texts which are found to be in agreement are colored green. Each category will have no more than five texts recommended in them, except for categories that are dual (e.g., Christology & Atonement) which in that case they may have up to ten texts. For the sake of time of the author and the reader a maximum of three categories will be posted daily till all categories have been filled and posted.
And consider any book on any of these lists as an endorsement. If I didn't think highly of them, then I would not have them placed so prominently on this list. Get'em there just that good.

2 Comments:
It is interesting not to see some of my favorite authors such as Augustine, William Lane Craig, or C. S. Lewis.
It may be in that the list is not an "apologetics" type of list - thoughts?
Though I did recognize N. T. Wright & Ben Witherington III, I definitely need to expand my reading repertoire.
Edgar.
Hey thanks for stopping by. Actually I am still in the process of developing the lists. I just didn't want to overwhelm everybody with them. Check back later this week for my top five picks for apologetics. =) You also should see it on the same day as evangelism and worship.
Expect to see William Lane Craig under certain other NT sections. Augustine is going to appear in the Pre-Reformation Church History section. And Lewis is going to appear in Apologetics and Christian Literature.
